Dr Gloria Wilder will be speaking to the campus and Columbia community on Nov 5th. Dr. Wilder is a nationally known speaker, who has appeared on Oprah, and is the founder of Core Health. She was not only the first in her family to graduate from college, but the first to graduate from high school. Dr. Wilder choose to follow mission versus salary and has spent her career as a physician working with people who lack access to medical care. Thursday November 5th, 2009, 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.

Ensemble Galilei's A Universe of Dreams

Ensemble Galilei is world-renowned for their performances of Irish, Scottish, early, and original music. Their latest show is A Universe of Dreams, a multimedia compilation of music, photography, poetry and stories. The show is narrated by Neal Conan, host of NPR’s Talk of the Nation, with projected images from the Hubble Space Telescope on the movie screen behind the ensemble, marrying music to words in a way that is both compelling and beautiful. A Universe of Dreams includes text from some of the finest poets including Stanley Kunitz, Jim Harrison, William Shakespeare, and a retelling of a Navajo creation myth, all performed with images from the Hubble that have transformed our understanding of the universe
